Darrell Jordan-Smith is Vice President of Sun's Communication Industry Group. Since taking this position, Darrell has spearheaded and defined a worldwide sales strategy to successfully grow Sun's telecommunications business.
In this role, Darrell travels the globe to represent Sun at key industry conferences and raise the company's profile. His organization provides strategic leadership for the industry, defining new solutions that help telecoms customers address specific business and technology needs. Darrell's team is also responsible for driving and sharing best practices in customer engagement models for all telecommunications accounts worldwide.
Upon joining Sun in 2000, Darrell established and led the key telecoms global account teams and built business relationships with Sun's largest global accounts. He successfully repositioned Sun as a key technology partner of the world's leading and largest telecoms firms. Along the way, he developed a reputation for innovative business development practices anchored by a determined focus on customer's key business to increase ARPU, drive out cost, and realize a full return on every IT investment.
Prior to joining Sun, Darrell held senior sales and management roles within the AT&T Group of companies including Lucent, NCR, AT&T BCS and AT&T Communications. Darrell is now based in the US and holds an MSc and MBA from the University of Glasgow. Darrell speaks regularly at industry conferences and writes about key issues affecting the industry in his spare time. |
