Peter Lyne
Business and Sales Development Director - FREEDOM4
Peter is the Business and Sales Development Director of FREEDOM4 the Wireless Broadband (WiMAX) company. He has worked in the Telecoms industry for over 20 years.
FREEDOM4 is rolling out WiMAX coverage nationwide and has launched commercial services in Milton Keynes, (early2008) Manchester and Warwick (June 2008)
Prior to FREEDOM4 Peter worked for The Cloud as UK Managing Director, and oversaw the roll out of the City of London Network, and helped create an Enterprise Business utilising the positioning and technology developed by The Cloud in the building out of the 8000+ access point public wireless network
For two years prior to joining The Cloud, he had, as MD and VP Europe, been running the European arm of the NASDAQ listed telecommunication service company Somera Communications. Located in Holland it sold to and serviced customers in all of the EMEA territories.
Prior to this he served as President, Global Professional Services, EMEA, at Nortel Networks and tasked with the creation of a Services business encompassing all aspects of the development, sales and delivery of the Services Business solutions.
Peter has had experience in several senior roles, crossing many business disciplines. He has run Global Sales ($billion plus) Accounts, for Nortel; has General Management experience as MD Bell Cablemedia.
He also has experience of dealing with Government operations in his role as Chairman of the Learning and Skills Council for North London, (this organisation distributes all monies for sixth form, further Education, and training at work programmes - (£150m+ pa)
Peter lives in Winchmore Hill, London with Karen and their four children.
The family's interests are dominated by sport (all the boys play football, rugby and cricket, Katie Netball) and Peter and Karen are season ticket holders at Spurs.
