Sally Davis
CEO BT wholesale
Sally Davis becomes Chief Executive of BT Wholesale after moving from her post as BT’s first Chief Portfolio Officer. In this role she was responsible for providing overall leadership for the shape and future of the company’s portfolio of products and services. Sally’s role was to apply a clear commercial logic to managing today’s portfolio whilst ensuring that BT built innovative convergent services and solutions for the future.
Sally is recognised as a fine strategic thinker, but also demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of the core business issues, built on a career in the telecommunications industry.
Sally is BT’s disability champion. Her belief is that everyone should feel valued and included in the BT global community and be judged purely and objectively on their contribution to the business.
Sally has also worked in a BT Line of Business as president, BT Global Products where she brought together a single global portfolio across all units and countries. Sally led the transformation of the international customer services function within BT Global Services. Win fifteen months the team were exceeding targets in all areas.
Sally has been with BT for eight years and prior to this she held leading roles in several major communications companies on both sides of the Atlantic
A graduate of University College London, Sally was one of the first people to join Mercury Communications and rose to being Managing Director of their telex business, one of company's most successful divisions. From here Sally became the MD of a Cable TV company, Cable London, a business which she built from scratch. It grew to include several franchises and was the first company to bundle telephone and cable TV services together. Sally moved on to join the NYNEX cable operator, taking the company to IPO in the UK before moving to the US to work for NYNEX in international development. Sally moved to head up strategy after NYNEX merged with Bell Atlantic.
Sally is on the boards of Logitech and Henderson Smaller Cap Investment Trust Plc. She is an English graduate and a Fellow of University College London.
Sally is 53. She is married with a 13 year old daughter. |
