Managing Director, 21CN Converged Core, BT
George is the Managing Director for the 21CN Core Convergence. He is responsible for the 21CN Program and all Network Architecture, Engineering, Planning, and Implementation in all lines of business Globally. This includes the Engineering activities, core, domestic and access, including Service Development, Network Design, Engineering, Planning, Implementation for IP and Data, Voice and Multimedia, Transport and Subsea, Fiber, Accommodation, and Access. Overall lead responsibility for defining and delivering Network, Platform Architectures and Strategies for the BT Group.
Senior telecom industry executive with 15+ years of progressive responsibilities in managing network engineering and operations combined with a strong financial culture, an extensive international background, start-ups, and M&A.
Had similar Engineering and Planning responsibilities with WorldCom and Level 3 and led the integration of many of their acquisitions, along with the Engineering and Planning roles.
He was a founder of a CLEC in the USA in 1998, and operated as the partner in charge of Finance, Operations and Acquisitions targeting small to medium size businesses to optimize their networks and reduce their line cost.
George received his masters degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Tulsa University in 1992.
George and his wife Becca are blessed with two young daughters and a baby boy living currently in Brussels, Belgium.
