Cory McAbee
Film maker, actor & musician
There are not many people who can claim to be Ralph Fiennes torturer (in the film Land of the Blind 2005). Cory McAbee is a Sundance film festival winning film director, a talented musician with his band ‘The Billy Nayer Show’ and sought after actor. His 2001 film, ‘The American Astronaut’ has become a cult classic all over the globe and more recently Cory participated in the launch of The Global Short Film Project with Sundance.
Aimed at proving mobile can be more than a teaser for good content, the project brought together six world recognised film directors, who all made a short film for mobile ‘phones. The launch was at the 3GSM conference in Barcelona, February 2007. Cory’s film ‘Reno’ has gone on to become one of the most popular downloaded short films from operators around the world.
Cory is currently working on a new album with his band and a series for mobile called Stingray Sam (www.corymcabee.com)
