Peter Mathers
Chief Technology Officer, National Grid Wireless.
Peter Mathers joined National Grid Wireless in 2006 as Chief Technology Officer and has responsibility for the development of National Grid Wireless’ services and technology solutions. He also has responsibility for building relationships with the company’s strategic technology partners.
Peter has over 34 years experience across a variety of roles and disciplines within the telecommunications and technology industries, including Engineering, R&D, Business development, Sales and operations. Prior to joining National Grid Wireless, he was vice president and chief operating officer at Energis (Poland). He has also provided services and technology consultancy to the management teams of a number of European telecommunications companies and service providers.
During his career he has been involved in the development of a variety of major projects, including internet technologies, data centre operations, wireless and fixed multi-service networks, IP next generation platforms and convergent architectures. In 2003 he received the European Unions Order of Merit for his development of IP networks and internet services in Poland. Peter is a member of the Institute of Directors and sits on a number of industry bodies.
