Sally Davis
Chief Portfolio Officer, BT
Sally is BT’s first Chief Portfolio Officer and has been in the role since May 2005. In this role she provides overall leadership for the shape and future of the company’s portfolio, making certain that a clear commercial logic is applied to managing today’s portfolio whilst ensuring that we build convergent services and solutions for the future.
Sally is recognised as a fine strategic thinker, but also demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of the core business issues and so is ideally placed to lead the transformation of the product community, processes and portfolio. She is passionate about exceeding customer expectations and is keen to push the boundaries to create a world class customer experience in every sense.
Sally is also the BT executive member of the Equality of Access Board (EAB), created by BT in 2005. The EAB monitors, reports and advises on BT’s compliance with the Undertakings given to, and accepted by Ofcom last year. She is a firm believer in the TSR outputs and in driving the right behaviours with the product community and her peers. She believes that by living the TSR to the spirit and the letter, BT has the ability to drive for even greater levels of success.
Prior to this role Sally was president, BT Global Products where she brought together a single global portfolio across all units and countries. In addition to the product portfolio transformation and because of her conceptual ability Sally led the transformation of the international customer services function within BT Global Services and within fifteen months the team were exceeding targets in all areas.
Sally has been with BT for five years and prior to this held leading roles in several major communications companies, including Bell Atlantic in the US and Mercury Communications in the UK.
Sally holds a seat on the board of The Henderson Smaller Companies Investment Trust PLC. She is an English graduate and now a Fellow of University College London.
