Greg Patchell Greg Patchell
Group Technology Officer, Telecom New Zealand Ltd

Greg leads the Group Technology & Investment team at Telecom New Zealand. He is leading the overall technology strategy and architecture for the company including network and IT and is responsible for governing the technology evolution and direction. He is also accountable for the asset, investment and planning management of the company’s capital spend in New Zealand & Australia.

Telecom has been pioneering the converged leadership of Network and IT technology areas under common architectures and management structures and Greg leads this converged thinking for the group and enables the organisation to make converged network and IT decisions in the one place.

His previous roles with Telecom New Zealand cover Technology Strategy and Enterprise Architecture and People capability supply areas including engineering, development and QA.

Before joining Telecom Greg lead the Technology Strategy and Architecture function for the Westpac Banking Corporation in New Zealand and also the Architecture function for Westpac Banking Corporation in Australia. He has a degree in Computer Science and Statistics. Outside work, Greg is occupied with his family, cycling and bush walking.
